Membership is open to any organization or individual who has an interest in preserving the heritage of the Caribbean. Membership is through an annual fee, usually payable at the AGM.
There are three categories of membership:
- Institutional – Open to all Caribbean organizations that meet the definition of museum as promulgated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
- Associate – Open to all organizations and individuals with an interest in the work of the association and in the Caribbean
- Student – Open to any student enrolled in school or university. This membership has no voting rights
